Another year, another Serena win

At the National Bank Open in Toronto, Serena Williams defeated Nuria Parrizas Diaz 6-3, 6-4 to earn her first singles victory in almost a year and a half.

To say Serena Williams is a full force is an understatement. She is a tennis legend, businesswoman, and mother, so you can only imagine how busy her schedule is. We were therefore quite excited to find that the Grand Slam star still had time to provide an amazing new look when she released a photo of her most recent hairdo for summer '22.

"I'm just happy to get a win. It's been a very long time, I forgot what that felt like,".

-Serena Williams

Williams is improving her performance. At Wimbledon, she resumed her playing career after a year away from the tour. She was healing from an injury sustained at the 2021 Grand Slam competition.

Williams are present at the National Bank Open in addition to Serena. Venus Williams, 42, is another performer at the occasion. Venus enters the competition having only played one match this year, like her sister. Last week, she suffered a loss in the Citi Open's opening round in Washington, D.C.

She will also compete at the Western & Southern Open, which she won in 2014 and 2015, in Cincinnati the following week.

On August 29, the U.S. Open will start. Due to a hamstring issue, Williams did not participate after Wimbledon in 2021.
